Fall Wreath

I love the Holidays...Halloween, Christmas, Easter...it doesn't matter. I love them.  But what I really love doing is decorating!! But with today's prices, it's hard to not look cheap and tacky.  I love the more farmhouse style.  Simple, earthy and antique.  So I decided to try and capture that feel in a fall wreath.  I started with a Pool Noodle...thank you Dollar store...$2 pool noodles.  I taped the ends together with duck tape, making sure to go up each side about 3 inches.
I used Dollar Store Duck Tape too!  $1.50!  Since I'm wrapping it in yarn, it doesn't have to be super pretty! Then I got some yarn.  I picked a color that had some speckles, just cause a solid color shows mistakes more, and then you have to roll tighter and straighter!  So I started wrapping...I found it easy to wrap a bit and then push it down so it was tight and covered gaps.

Once I had covered the whole Noodle, I went to work on creating felt flowers.  I chose colors that were fallish and gave me that warm feeling.  I incorporated brown and green leaves to fill gaps and cover any glue spots.  Basically cut a circle in felt, then cut them into a spiral and glue into a tight flower.  I found a tutorial online.
I found a hot glue gun worked best on putting them on.  Then I placed them, different colors and sizes together on the wreath.  Glued them down.  It turned out so much better then I imagined!  Although, I found the noodle to be a bit malleable, and any heavy decorations would pull the wreath out of shape.  Felt flowers are fairly light, but you could either shorten the noodle to make a smaller, tighter wreath or feed a wire coat hanger through and bend it into shape as it will add stability!
Add a simple ribbon to the top for hanging and boom.  It's beautiful!  Yarn was $5.00 and Felt for flowers was $5.00.  Ribbon, once I added it was $2.00.  In total...$15.50.  Not bad!!!  Now I'm gonna work on creating a winter one!

This was a fun fast craft.  Took me 2 days, but I honestly only devoted maybe 2 hours in total!
